Someone once coined the expression...

"It's not IF you'll have a hard drive failure, it's simply a question of WHEN!"

There is not a truer statement.  Everyone, at some point, will experience a hard drive failure, get hit by a virus, lose an important file or worse...overwrite an important file and only realize it a few days later.  

Everyone has good intentions but unfortunately, intentions are a lot like New Years Resolutions.  They're forgotten nearly immediately.  Human nature being what it is, we put off until it's too late what we need to do.

There are many backup solutions available including inexpensive solutions such as copying files to a CD or DVD burner to expensive tape backup systems.
